At Hunt Valley Dental, we treat all our patients like kings, but some receive actual crowns. And we are not talking about crowns worn by kings and queens, but crowns for teeth! Yes, your tooth needs crowning when the damage is too extensive for a typical filling or an onlay/inlay. If you are a resident of Hunt Valley, Maryland, and its environs, please book an appointment with Dr. Thomas Rhodes for same-day dental crowns that will restore your smile and give you a grin that you never had!
When your tooth is damaged, you don’t want a solution that takes weeks. You need an immediate solution to save you from pain and restore your oral functionality. Traditionally, dental crowns have always required a minimum of two visits and can take even a month to complete the process.
During the first appointment, the dentist preps your teeth, takes bite impressions, and sends the images to an off-site dental lab to create your dental crowns. Before your crowns are ready, the dentist installs temporal crowns to protect your prepared teeth. In the second visit, the dentist removes the temporal crowns (if at all they are intact) and installs your new crowns permanently using dental cement.
Thanks to CEREC technology, dentists can now create crowns and other dental appliances in one appointment! For CEREC crowns, the procedure is similar is to traditional crowns, only that creating the appliances happens right here in our office. After prepping your teeth and taking digital bite impressions, we have an in-house milling machine to manufacture your crowns in as little as 20 minutes!
Hard-pressed for time? Same-day crowns are the way to go. Preparation, creation, and placement happen as you wait. Besides convenience, here are more reasons to consider single-day dental crowns:
