We at Hunt Valley Dental strive to design and place “Drop Dead Gorgeous” dentures! With a name like that, you know that Dr. Thomas Rhodes and our team in northeastern Maryland take the appearance of all dentures, regardless of type, very seriously. Cosmetic considerations do not take a back seat. However, the natural appearance of your denture depends on how well it fits. A precision fit also supports the most lifelike function and sustained health and satisfaction with the denture.
To ensure your dentures fit seamlessly, Dr. Rhodes uses his considerable expertise in rebuilding smiles, as well as the latest dental technologies, to plan your treatment. Furthermore, he uses quality materials to design prosthetic teeth that look and feel “real.” No “false,” overly white, or plastic-looking teeth here! Teeth that conform to the contours of the mouth properly also tend to function like the “real thing.” You can laugh without fear of your dentures slipping around. You can enjoy all of your favorite crunchy or chewy foods again. Your clear speech is restored, right alongside your renewed self-confidence and well-being.
For added peace of mind, no “case” is too complex for Dr. Rhodes to handle. We have many onsite capabilities that allow us to treat even extensive rehabilitative needs or challenges. These needs may include patients who have lost a few or several highly visible teeth in their “smile zone.” We may recommend partial dentures depending on factors such as the availability of healthy, natural teeth. “Partials” are made to replace a few or many missing teeth. Prosthetic teeth and gums are connected to a framework. The framework then connects to healthy teeth in the mouth via specialized attachments. Due to our focus on fit as well as our use of premium materials, your smile looks natural – you can be proud of it!
Now, for patients holding on to painful, broken, and otherwise damaged teeth, extractions of remaining teeth in the upper and lower arch(es) may be necessary. From there, we will work with you to promptly replace those teeth. Complete dentures refer to prosthetic teeth and gums that are used to replace all of the teeth in the upper and/or lower jaw(s). The shape and structure of the upper jaw or palate support a firm seal between the denture and the natural tissues in the mouth. This feature underscores the importance of a precise fit. Lower dentures may require additional support in the form of adhesive denture products due to the comparative lack of natural suction and the potential for the tongue to displace the denture.
Still, other patients may prefer implant-supported bridges to replace several teeth or “overdentures” (upper or lower denture(s) supported by dental implants as an alternative to conventional complete dentures).
We look forward to partnering with you. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Rhodes by calling Hunt Valley Dental at (410) 771-6300. Your long-term satisfaction with dentures, regardless of “type,” is our priority!
