The many individuals with dental anxiety, fear, and phobia are underserved. But at Hunt Valley Dental, we have made it our mission to assure that all patients, regardless of their history with (and relationship to) dentistry, get the oral care they need to “be” their best and healthiest selves. We have invested in an array of advanced dental technologies and sedation services to promote the most comfortable, pleasant, and efficient experience possible for our patients throughout Cockeysville, Baltimore, Towson, and greater northeast Maryland.
We “get it.” We understand that some of you may not have seen the dentist for check-ups in quite a while. You may avoid the exams and professional cleanings necessary for all of us to keep our teeth and gums free of disease, look good, and function comfortably and adequately. The fear you or a loved one may experience can wreak havoc on your overall health and quality of life because dental visits are critical to preventing and protecting the body from disease.
Those who forgo routine dental services are more likely than their counterparts who maintain these visits to:
Our kind and caring staff empathize with these concerns and challenges. We provide a “judgment-free zone.” In addition to our warm and inviting attitude and environment, Hunt Valley Dental is pleased to be supported in this noble mission by technologies and techniques that minimize or eliminate many sources of dental apprehension and fear. For instance, we use light-touch laser cavity detection, comfortable VibraJect injections, and conservative micro dentistry. Additionally, one of our biggest “helpers” is relaxing dental sedation.
While many of you may be familiar with mild or light sedation via nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”), Dr. Thomas Rhodes is also equipped to offer oral sedation safely. This prescription medication is delivered orally or by mouth in pill form. The specific type of sedative we prescribe is tailored to your unique needs and characteristics. The dosage can also be tailored to you. So, oral sedation may be appropriate for patients with more moderate “dentophobia.” In our dentist’s skillful hands, oral sedation is safe to calm fidgety, high-strung, or scared pediatric patients.
